Kohaku Japanese Restaurant in Huntington Station

I've been going there since it opened over 30 years ago. It was a Karaoke bar before that was a "thing". Always good Japanese food nice atmosphere. Try it.

Easy to see right off of New York Avenue servicing Huntington Station and the adjoining areas of Suffolk County. Small parking lot in a small strip of stores. Japanese owner and staff who are very nice and knows the name of the regulars. Good sushi from Chirashi, Ni Giri, and Fusion Rolls. Kitchen food from Tempura to Ton Katsu. Moderately clean facilities. Public Restroom. Reasonably priced. Credit cards accepted. We will definitely be going back..

I have been to multiple sushi places on long Island this is one of my favorites. The chef uses sauces that delight the palate.

Ken san is consistent in delivering delicious food, lunch or dinner. Lunch menu is great in that there are so many to choose from (some times too many) and you can choose to go a la cart (sans soup and salad) or full lunch menu. Tea comes with food (you have to ask but there is no extra charge) and the staff is helpful in choosing your meal.

Kobe Japanese restaurant actually owned and run by the Japanese. The menu was Innovative and different with many original dishes. The service can be a little spotty and you have to assert yourself to get what you want but the restaurant as well worth a visit. The lunch specials are huge and very reasonably priced

This cozy Japanese restaurant is a gem! Everything is great , good value and authentic. Sushi fans should visit. You will return again and again, as we have over the last 20 yrs!

The menu and service were above my expectations. We really liked the vibes of this place. Wonderful spot to take my family out for dinner.

I just moved to the Town of Huntington and this is by far some of the best sushi I've had. Great atmosphere and staff. Large selection of delicious sushi rolls and Japanese dishes. Will come back again and again.

100% authentic Japanese food with the BEST sushi!! forget all the fancy Asian fusion restaurants if you're looking for REAL sushi this is the place.

Food is fabulous but the place is a dump. I used to be able to overlook it however the last time I went, it kinda smelled. The food was still really great though. If you can get past the shabby decor and the smell you'll be eating well!

This restaurant has such a wide range of food options that there's something for everyone! Not to mention that the food is absolutely delicious. The staff is also very warm and accommodating! I highly recommend this restaurant!!

Una don&mixed curry are really delicious. Their service are wonderful. It a place where you can find the feeling of family. They have bar, you can get any drink you want!! Don’t forget try the Japanese Soda. Best restaurant ever. Must bring your friend or family to here and enjoy your life.

Love their food! Huge amount of delicious rolls, on and off the menu (they have more options posted in the restaurant), amazing lunch specials. Their Bento boxes are amazing, love that their lunches come with both a salad and soup. Restaurant is cozy and very inviting, love it here

Love this place for sushi

Awesome little spot. My family and I have been coming here for years, and chef Ken is producing some of the best sushi in the area.

The place is amazing and spacious, the menu was delightful and the rates were very economical. fast, productive service and very attentive staff members. I highly recommend this place.

This review is only for the food because I would have given this place a 2 or 3 star review based on the interior design that was in desperate need for some renovations. Other than that the food was top notch!! Not only was the food reasonably priced, but my family and I left there completely satisfied/ full as well! Expect a little bit of a wait time to prepare the food, but you do get soup and salad and other appetizers that are all included with your dinner to hold you over. They even had organic chicken!!!

I used the advertised coupon code on their website for the first time clients, they were very surprised it exist and instead giving me the promised extra dish, they took one dish away I paid for, which had the same price. Spicy crunchy tuna roll was not good, I couldn’t eat it, the crunch was made with some very intense smelling oil, it’s not sushi. Also the rice layer is to thick, basically you get a lot of rice and less ingredients. I am sorry i eat a lot sushi and I’m probably spoiled. Unfortunately I cannot give this experience more than 1 Star, I had better sushi.

The place offers an awesome range of delicious food. I enjoy dining here. Employees are always kind, prices are fair and the spot is always well organised.

This is our new favorite local sushi place! Do yourself a favor and try this restaurant! Extremely friendly service and some of the most amazing sushi I've ever eaten. The chef is so generous with the fish, sauce and toppings. We were in awe of how beautiful and how delicious the food was. I cannot believe this place has slipped by us for the 4 years we've lived here. And this small little "hole in the wall" restaurant was jumping! It seems to be well known among the locals. And to top it all off, the pricing is very fair and won't break the bank. Can't say enough nice things. Bring extra cash ... you'll be leaving it in the chef's tip jar! :)

It's hard to find good Japanese street food dishes like takoyaki and okonomiyaki around here. So when I saw that Kohaku had both, I had to come try it. They were both great!!!! reasonably priced and made quickly. The texture, taste and toppings of the takoyaki was spot on to takoyaki I've had in the city, and the octopus peices are nice and big!!! The people who served me were very nice and made me feel welcome. it's a small, quaint little place and I think it's my new favorite!!!

Incredible rolls, and the service was great. We came with a group of 11 and no reservation and they were very accommodating. I recommend the CJ roll and the dumplings were some of the best I've ever eaten

Been going here for nearly 30 years. Absolutely love this little place, food great and staff equally so. Easy to miss as small bldg in a small stripmall, but so worth finding!

To be fair I only got 2 rolls. Spicy tuna and the flying green dragon (fried shrimp and avocado). Spicy tuna is a staple in sushi and it wasn't that good. No spice at all. No flavor really. The flying green dragon was pretty good. Lastly, we found a tiny piece of hair in the spicy tuna....... I'm not going back. But like I said, I only got 2 rolls......

Take out took longer than expected, so they gave me tea while I waited and chocolate when I left. Food is wonderful. Staff very kind.

This is a cozy, casual restaurant that serves oversized, fun rolls. If ur up for that, then this is a great choice. We went on a Saturday night and had no wait, tho it was crowded. We ordered the special scallop, Mets and volcano rolls. The rolls are topped w so much fish, that they're like twice the size u'd expect from a traditional sushi place. The server was very sweet and attentive. We had a fun time. There was baseball playing on the two televisions.

It's a small little dive, but the food is authentic and amazing. They really should be proud of the food they make. It's my favorite local sushi place. Will continue going there as long as I can

Best place ever!

I have been coming here for years and it never disappoints. Actually I remember it being at this location since 1980 (before I knew of sushi), so something must be right. Do not expect glitzy decor, just great sushi

My wife and I left after 20 minutes of being ignored in a mostly empty restaurant. We weren't even given a menu. We got up and left when a family of 4 came in long after us and were seated and served in a matter of seconds.
